Surf City, North Carolina Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Car Turns Into Bicyclist's Path

A Surf City bicyclist was seriously injured Sunday after being strick by a car on NC 210.

The bicyclist, Kenneth Batts, was ejected from his bicycle as a result of the impact.  He was transported via helicopter to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.  The driver of the car has been charged with an unsafe movement violation.

Tragically, we have now learned that Mr. Batts has died as a result of his injuries.  His family has our deepest sympathies.
