Bicyclist Hit by Drunk Driver in Carolina Beach, NC Accident

A drunk driver has apparently struck a person who was walking their bicycle on Raleigh Avenue in Carolina Beach, North Carolina.

The accident happened around 1:45 am and involved a driver who is a former Carolina Beach councilman. According to reports, the driver struck the person walking with their bicycle and then fled the scene.  The driver was apprehended and charged with DWI and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
