Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Boone N.C. Bike Wreck
On Monday, a bicyclist was seriously injured in a Boone, North Carolina bicycle wreck. The wreck happened just after noon on Blowing Rock Road near the IHOP Restaurant.
According to reports, the bicyclist was riding in the bike lane when he struck the side of a turning minivan. Apparently, the driver of the minivan was attempting to turn into the lot for the IHOP Restaurant when the wreck occurred.
The bicyclist was transported to Watauga Medical Center for treatment.
The wording of the news article suggests that the bicyclist was to blame for this accident. Based on the facts as I read them, it appears that the woman driving the minivan failed to yield the right-of-way to the bicyclist and caused the crash. Police are still investigating the accident.
