Driver Charged With DWI Hits Father-Son Bicyclists
In a terrible story, a driver charged with driver while impaired, open container, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges hit a father and son as they were bicycling on River Road in New Hanover County Sunday morning.
The two bicyclists were a father and son. The father was killed in the wreck and his son is in the hospital with critical injuries.
Apparently, the bicyclists were riding in the bike lane when the truck swerved into the lane and struck them.

What a terrible story. Indeed, Sunday morning was a beautiful day for a ride and it is sickening to think that a drunk driver destroyed this family.
