Scotland Neck, North Carolina Police Tases Bicyclist Causing Death of Biker
An autopsy report was recently released indicating that a Halifax County man, Roger Anthony, died after he was tased while riding his bicycle last November.
According to multiple articles, Mr. Anthony fell off his bike after police shocked him and hit his head on the pavement. Police have said that Mr. Anthony did not respond to multiple requests to get off his bike. However, family members of Mr. Anthony have stated that he was hard of hearing and that he suffered from siezures. In any case, I am very concerned that poliec would choose to use a taser on a man who was sitting on a bicycle. Certainly, there must have been other ways to control Mr. Anthony in this situation other than using a taser in a dangerous situation.
