Raleigh Bicycle Wreck Caused By Hit-And-Run Driver

A hit-and-run bicycle wreck in Raleigh early Sunday morning has resulted in injuries to the bicyclist.  The wreck happened near Hillsborough Street and Ashe Avenue close to downtown Raleigh and involved a early 2000s model Monte Carlo.  Apparently, the bicyclist was struck by the mirror of the car and police are looking for the car and its driver.

Fortunately, the bicyclist was wearing a helmet but still sustained some injuries.  However, because the bicyclist was hit by a driver who fled the scene, it may be difficult for the injured bicyclist to make a claim against any insurance for the driver.  In situations such as this, it may be important for the bicyclist to contact his/her insurance company regarding this accident.

Another bicycle wreck had occurred earlier Saturday near on on-ramp to I-540.  This accident involved a woman dragging the bicycle under her car for 1/2 mile before it fell on a on-ramp to I-540.  Police have arrested the driver in this wreck which caused injuries to the bicyclist Jason Epstein.
