Dean Davis Killed in North Carolina Bike Accident
An amazing gentleman named Dean Davis was killed in a bicycle accident on Friday in western North Carolina.
According to reports, Mr. Davis was bicycling on a stretch of N.C. Highway 28 in western NC when he was struck by a passing Kia automobile. The accident happened around 5:00 pm so it does not appear that lighting would have been an issue in this accident. Witnesses apparently report that the driver of the Kia drifted over towards the right shoulder of the road and struck Mr. Davis.
Mr. Davis was 84 years old and apparently ran, biked and swam six days a week. He was also a frequent competitor in triathlons.
