DWI Driver Hits and Kills Aiden Lupo and Seriously Injures Bicyclist Jacoby Locklear Near Rennert, NC
A terrible accident on Tuesday in Robeson County has resulted in the death of a young boy riding a bicycle with his friend.
The accident happened around 6:35 pm on Russell Road about 3 miles west of Rennert, North Carolina. According to available information, Jacoby Locklear and his friend Aiden Lupo were both riding on the same bicycle when they were hit by James Davis. Apparently, Mr. Davis crossed the center-line and hit the boys as they road on the shoulder of the road. Aiden Lupo, who was 11 years old, did not survive the wreck. Jacoby Locklear was taken to a hospital in Florence, South Carolina for treatment of serious injuries.
Mr. Davis has been charged with multiple crimes including DWI and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
