Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested For Concord, NC Bicycle Crash

Concord, NC (January 29, 2021) – Driver who hit Concord, NC bicyclist arrested after fleeing scene of wreck.

A bicyclist in Concord, North Carolina was seriously injured on January 22, 2021 when he was hit by a driver who then fled the accident scene.  The wreck happened around 4:30 pm at the intersection of Warren C. Coleman Boulevard and Cabarrus Avenue West.  After the collision, the driver sped away down Warren C. Coleman Boulevard in his 2014 Dodge Dart.

The bicyclist was taken to Atrium Medical Center in Charlotte for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle has now apparently been arrested for his involvement in the wreck after police found the Dodge Dart in a Charlotte neighborhood.

Gayle Nadel Seriously Injured in Stanly County, NC Hit-and-Run Crash

A bicyclist named Gayle Nadel was seriously injured on Saturday when she was hit by a man driving a pickup truck who then fled the scene.

The wreck happened on Meadow Creek Church Road near Locust, North Carolina.  The man driving the pickup was later caught through the help of a neighbor who captured a picture of the pickup on a home surveillance camera.

Ms. Nadel is apparently in stable condition at a hospital in Charlotte and we certainly hope for her speedy recovery.

Kenneth Wells Seriously Injured in Wanchese NC Bike Accident

Wanchese, NC (November 3, 2020) – Bicyclist Kenneth Wells Seriously Injured in Wanchese, NC Hit-and-Run Crash

A gentleman named Kenneth Wells was seriously injured in a hit-and-run bicycle crash in Wanchese, North Carolina on Sunday morning.

The wreck happened around 12:30 am on Harbor Road when a  woman hit Mr. Wells from behind.  The woman, a 45 year old from Manteo, has been charged with felony hit-and-run.  She was apparently driving a 2018 Ford pickup truck when she hit Mr. Wells and fled the scene.

Mr. Wells was transported to Sentara Hospital in Norfolk for treatment of serious injuries.  Tragically, his dog and longtime companion was killed in the wreck.

Bicyclist Jane Beach Killed in Buncombe County NC Wreck

Buncombe County NC (July 20, 2020) – Bicyclist Jane Beach Killed in Buncombe County NC Wreck

A bicyclist named Jane Beach was tragically killed on Saturday afternoon when she was hit by an impaired driver who also left the scene of the collision.

The wreck happened around 5:20 pm on North Carolina Highway 191 in Buncombe County.  According to available information, a 25 year-old woman from Brevard, North Carolina hit Ms. Beach as she rode her bike south along the roadway.

The driver was operating a Buick passenger car and was later arrested for multiple crimes including DWI, driving with a revoked license and felony hit-and-run.

Ms. Beach was 56 years old and from Columbia, South Carolina.

Bicyclist Josh Ramsey Seriously Injured in Winston-Salem Hit-and-Run Crash

A bicyclist named Josh Ramsey was seriously injured in a hit-and-run bicycle wreck in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Sunday.  The wreck happened around 5:15 pm on Gumtree Road.

According to available information, Mr. Ramsey was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a older model red truck that then fled the scene.  Mr. Ramsey was apparently close to his home when the collision happened.

After the collision, Mr. Ramsey was transported to the hospital where he was found to have a crushed vertebrae and a fracture of his neck.

The red truck that hit Mr. Ramsey was apparently caught on video by a neighbor’s doorbell video.  Winston-Salem police are looking for any information about the truck.

This is obviously a very serious wreck and hopefully the police will apprehend the driver of the truck.

Bicyclist Tommy Whitehurst Injured in Elizabeth City, NC Accident

A bicyclist named Tommy Whitehurst was injured in a bicycle wreck in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on Friday evening.  The wreck hapened near the intersection of W. Ehringhaus Street and Westover Street.

There is not much information available about what happened in this wreck other than the wreck involved a 2016 Nissan Rogue driven by a 27 year-old woman.  Following the wreck, Mr. Whitehurst was transported to Pitt Memorial Hospital after initially being taken to Albemarle Medical Center.

Driver Charged in Wreck that Killed North Carolina Bicyclist William Dillon

A gentleman named William Dillon was tragically killed on October 3, 2019 when he was hit by a vehicle as he rode his bicycle along US 64 near Statesville, North Carolina.

The wreck happened around 7:15 pm as Mr. Dillon and the other driver changed lanes in order to turn left at an intersection.  According to available information, the other driver failed to reduce his speed and struck Mr. Dillon from behind.

Charges are now pending against the driver of the vehicle.  Mr. Dillon was 48 years old and resided in Statesville, North Carolina.

Sangyoon Jeon Killed in South Carolina Bicycle Crash With Delivery Van

A young man from Korea named Sangyoon Jeon was tragically killed on Monday while riding his bike in South Carolina.

The wreck happened on US Highway 378 near Columbia, South Carolina at around 12:15 pm.  According to available information, Mr. Jeon was hit by a delivery van.

Mr. Jeon was 27 years old and was apparently attempting to bicycle across the United States when the wreck occurred.

The wreck is apparently still under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.

Durham NC Bicyclist Injured on Duke Street

A bicyclist in Durham, North Carolina was injured on Thursday morning in a crash at the intersection of Duke Street and Interstate 85.

The wreck happened around 5:30 am when the driver of a car apparently came off the off-ramp form I-85 too fast and hit the bicyclist.  The vehicle ultimately overturned as part of the wreck.

Jamey Thornton Killed in Winston-Salem NC Bicycle Wreck With Dump Truck

A gentleman named Jamey Thornton was tragically killed Monday morning in a wreck with a dump truck in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The wreck happened around 6:50 am and apparently happened when the dump truck side-swiped Mr. Thornton as he rode along Southdale Avenue near the intersection with Overdale Road.  The vehicle that hit Mr. Thornton was a 2001 Mack dump truck driven by a 57 year old man.

Mr. Thornton was 42 years of age and he was found dead next to his bicycle.

Police are still investigating this accident and if we learn more about the cause of the crash, we will update this post.
